This has been a very busy
year for all of us. Janika just turned four years old and loves playing with
friends and going to Primary and pre-school.
She sang two solos in church this year.
She sang “I Am a Child of God” in Sacrament meeting almost a year ago
and a week ago sang “What Child is This” in our Christmas Devotional. She loves
to do homework in her workbooks and is well on her way to reading.
Jase just turned two years old and is into everything! He is constantly climbing on the counters,
turning on the television and stereo, and playing with Daddy’s computer. With
his constant activity and Janika’s constant chatter, we find ourselves very
occupied. Jase hasn’t started talking yet and is attending early intervention classes
for language and speech at “The Learning Center” a couple of mornings a
week. He loves it and gets excited to
play with the toys and other kids. We
have been signing a lot with him and after Christmas he suddenly started
signing a lot. Janika likes to use her
sign language too and will often use it to say her prayers. We are expecting
another baby boy in March of 2000 and are very excited about that.
Rick has been working on his Masters Degree in Education with an
emphasis in Music and should be finished this summer (Yeah!). This year he was transferred to Snow Canyon
High School and the new Tuacahn High School for the Arts to teach Seminary and
he loves it. This has kept him very busy
since he is the only full-time teacher at Tuacahn and therefore has more
responsibilities such as the Seminary Council and other administrative work.
This has been a nice transfer since he is now much closer to home and doesn’t
have the half hour commute that he had last year at Pine View. He has also
continued to teach some computer classes for Dixie College and InfoWest
Internet service.
Wendy is still teaching evening ASL classes at Dixie College twice
a week and doing some freelance interpreting. She was also one of the trainers
for a week-long Interpreter Camp in Ogden during the summer. However, she is
mostly busy with the responsibilities of motherhood such as carting kids to and
from their pre-school and TLC classes and trying to keep peace and harmony in
the home with two rambunctious children. She has also been trying out lots of
new thrifty recipes to hopefully stretch the grocery budget somewhat and is
always on the lookout for other ways to cut costs. She has been blessed with a fairly easy
pregnancy so far. She is still serving
in the Young Women’s Presidency and Rick is serving in the Elder’s Quorum
Presidency.
We went on a few different camping trips with friends this past
year that were really fun for us and the kids. Rick and I had a nice get-away at our Seminary Area Convention. We feel really blessed as we reflect on everything that Heavenly
Father has given us. We are especially
grateful for His son and His atonement at this Christmas time. Thank you for all for your love and
friendship and best wishes for the new millenium! Love, The Jensens
